About Us
History
Stepping Stones is locally owned and operated by First Baptist Church of Gainesville, TX. We are a faith based childcare learning center serving families of Cooke County and surrounding areas. We are dedicated to providing excellent, loving care which targets the whole child and provides the peace of mind parents desire and deserve when maintaining daily responsibilities to provide for their families.
Claude Jones Memorial Daycare, now known as Stepping Stones of First Baptist Church, is owned and governed by First Baptist Church of Gainesville, Texas. It was opened in 1957 by Claude Jones, a member of First Baptist Church and a banker in Gainesville whose desire was to serve the parents of Gainesville with quality childcare at an affordable price.
Mission
The mission of Stepping Stones is to provide a safe, caring, supportive, all-inclusive, and stimulating environment for children while in our care. We provide an educational experience that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. We are committed to the families we serve and strive to give parents complete peace of mind, while being seen as an example of what an exceptional child care learning center should be.
philosophy
We believe that children experience the greatest growth when they feel safe and connected. Therefore, we strive to create a compassionate family centered culture that provides a safe learning environment for the children of Stepping Stones. We acknowledge the importance of teaching the children of our future a skill set to ensure self-regulation and problem solving. We work together, teacher, child and parent, to establish routines and rituals that provide predictability and consistency within our classrooms.
