Family: I have been married to Chet, my high school sweetheart for 24 years. We have 2 daughters, Carly Scott, recently married and living in North Dakota with her husband Kaleb, and Teely a Junior athlete at Callisburg High School. We have been active members of First Baptist Church of Gainesville for 15 years. 

 

Education/Career: I was raised in Gainesville where I graduated high school and pursued a career in education. I attended Texas Woman's University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. After teaching for 10 years as a highly qualified educator, 7 in prekindergarten, I was encouraged to begin my Master’s in Educational Leadership. I received my Master’s degree from Texas A&M Commerce and served as an Assistant Principal for 8 years. When the former Director of Claude Jones retired I was given the opportunity to serve the families of Gainesville as the new director of what is now called Stepping Stones. 

 

Goal: My goal is to move Stepping Stones from a standard daycare to a learning center focused on socialization, academic exposure and biblical truths. We have changed the name, improved the building with needed updates and repairs, as well as, implemented a Prekindergarten program.  We utilize and implement CLI Engage lessons and activities as our research based curriculum and bible lessons are taught weekly. All of our teachers are loving and highly trained. We are in the process of being accredited with Texas Rising Star and excited about providing a high quality learning experience for your child!
